Wildcats Drop Match to Montana

BOZEMAN, Mont. -- The Weber State women's tennis team fell one point short in its final match of the season on Saturday as it fell 4-3 to the University of Montana.
The Grizzlies took control early, sweeping the doubles matches to earn the opening point and putting the Wildcats in the position of having to win at least four singles points to take the match.
The Wildcats got three points in singles as the trio of freshmen earned wins. Caroline Drugge took a 6-3, 6-7, 10-2 win over Amanda Bran in the No. 3 position. Brittiny Moore also won in three sets, taking a 6-3, 0-6, 6-0 win over Martyna Nowak at No. 4. In the No. 5 spot, Karlie Hancock continued her stellar play with a 6-0, 6-3 straight-sets win over Kayla Moyse.
The Grizzlies came through with straight-sets wins at the No. 1, 2 and 6 spots to split the singles and earn the four points necessary to take the match.
The Wildcats finish the season 5-17 overall and 2-6 in Big Sky play, while Montana moves to 8-12 overall and 4-4 in the conference.
