Wildcats Get Past Montana State 4-3

OGDEN, Utah -- Valentine's Day got off to a good start for the Weber State men's tennis team as they defeated Montana State 4-3 to improve to 3-4 on the season and 1-1 in Big Sky play.

The Wildcats took the top two doubles spots to earn the doubles point, and then used wins at the No. 1, 2 and 6 singles spots to pull out the victory.

Simon Unger and Henning Hipp each went undefeated on the day, winning in singles and doubles. Unger downed Pavel Turzanski 7-6, 6-1 at No. 1 singles, while Hipp won his singles match 4-6, 6-2, 6-2 over Corey Smith at the No. 2 position.

Dave Hintze earned the third singles point for the Wildcats with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Myles Perkins at No. 6.

Montana State dropped to 0-7 on the season and 0-2 in conference play.
