Wildcats Drop Pair In Cheney

CHENEY, Wash. -- The Weber State women's tennis team dropped two matches over the weekend, suffering a 7-0 loss to Idaho and a tight 4-3 loss to Eastern Washington.
The Vandals won their 11th-straight match on Friday with a clean sweep of the Wildcats. Idaho took all three doubles matches and won all six singles matches in straight-sets.
On Saturday against the Eagles, Keya Jenkins and Kassia Adamson won at No. 3 doubles with an 8-6 victory over Chelsea Patton and Ryann Warner, but the 'Cats were unable to secure the point as the Eagles won in the top two spots.
In singles, the Wildcats got wins in the four through six matches to get within a point, but once again, they were unable to get the one match necessary to claim the winning point.
Brittiny Moore defeated Judy Liening 6-0, 6-4 at No. 4, Caroline Drugge beat Patton 3-6, 6-4, 10-5 at No. 5, and Adamson downed Warner 6-3, 6-4 at No. 6 for the three WSU points.
Weber State lost two tight matches at No. 1 and 2 singles that could have swung the match to the Wildcats. Jenkins rallied from a first-set loss to force a third set at No. 1 singles, but eventually fell 6-4, 3-6, 7-5. Greyce Farias took a first set lead in the No. 2 match, only to see Marie Demerath rally for a 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 win.
