PORTLAND, Ore. - Redshirt-freshman middle blocker Elli Graff had seven kills and hit .500 on Friday night, but it wasn't quite enough to power the Weber State University women's volleyball team to an upset of defending Big Sky Conference regular season champion Portland State.

Riding the hot arm of Whitney Phillips, the NCAA's fourth-ranked hitter, the Vikings defeated the Wildcats 3-0 (25-21, 25-18, 25-14) at the Peter W. Stott Center in Big Sky Conference action.

Sophomore middle blocker Carissa Noble added six kills and a five blocks, and sophomore right side hitter Bethany Wray had seven kills, eight digs and two service aces for the Wildcats.

Weber State struggled to terminate the ball against Portland State's defense, hitting just .061 on 99 attempts. The Vikings had 50 digs in the match.
Junior libero Nina Blake had eight digs.

Weber State remains on the road, catching an early morning flight from Portland to Cheney, Wash., where they will face Eastern Washington on Saturday night at 8 p.m.
