And when they got there, the Weber State University women's basketball team found California State University at Bakersfield to be a most inhospitable host to their visitors.
The Roadrunners connected on 11 3-point field goals and forced the weary Wildcats into a season-high 25 turnovers in knocking off WSU 72-58 on Monday night at the Icardo Center.
CS Bakersfield scored 37 points off those 25 WSU miscues.
Inclement weather turned the Weber State's road trip to Bakersfield into a grueling travel day that lasted from a late afternoon takeoff from Salt Lake City International Airport until arriving in Bakersfield via a nine-hour bus ride from Los Angeles at roughly 4 a.m.
Freshman point guard Justine Johnson and junior guard Abby Palmer each scored 11 points to lead Weber State in scoring, with sophomore forward Mariah Metoyer adding 10 points and eight rebounds.
Junior center Mikell Woodfield added nine points, senior forward Caitlin Anderson had eight and sophomore forward Amanda Hughes tacked on seven in a balanced offensive effort for Weber State, which shot 51.1 percent from the field, but managed just 45 shots because of the numerous turnovers.
The Wildcats were 9-of-21 from 3-point range.
Monday's game wrapped up the non-conference portion of Weber State's schedule with a 4-8 record, with the Wildcats set to kick off a five-game home stand to Big Sky Conference action on Saturday at 2 p.m. against Northern Arizona.
