'Cats Post Largest Win Ever in Season Opener

OGDEN, Utah - Weber State kicked off the season with a dominating 109-50 win over Northern New Mexico Friday night at the Dee Events Center and in the process the Wildcats set a couple of school records.
The 59-point win is the largest margin of victory in school history. The Wildcats also set a school record with 17 three-pointers.
Weber State never trailed in the game and shot 60 percent from the field. WSU was 17-29 from three-point land. It was the first time the 'Cats have scored over 100 points in a game in nearly ten years.
The 'Cats had six players in double figure scoring, led by junior Damian Lillard who had 25 points in his first action since breaking his foot last December. Lillard was 8-11 from the field and knocked down four three-pointers.
Scott Bamforth had 17 points and was 5-5 from three-point land. In his first game as a Wildcat Frank Otis finished with 13 points and 17 rebounds on 5-5 shooting.
Kyle Bullinger and Jordan Richardson each had 11 points and freshman Mike Brown added 10 in his first game with the Wildcats.
Richardson led the team with seven assists.
Northern New Mexico, an NAIA school from Espanola, New Mexico was led by Christain Camacho who had 11 points.
Weber State will step into an in-state showdown when the 'Cats host Utah State Tuesday at the Dee Events Center. The Aggies are coming off a 69-62 season-opening win over BYU on Friday.
