SAN JOSE, Calif. -- The hot shooting displayed by the Weber State men's basketball team over the last six games did not carry over into Friday night's contest against San Jose State, as the Wildcats struggled from the field in a 62-46 loss in their Sears Bracketbuster matchup.

“We didn't have it tonight, for whatever reason,” said Weber State head coach Randy Rahe. “I thought San Jose State played really well. I thought they had a lot of energy. They looked like a much fresher team than we did."

Weber State shot just 34.7 percent from the field and made only 4-of-21 attempts from three-point range, after shooting at a 51 percent clip from behind the arc during its six game winning streak, which came to an end with the loss.

Trevor Morris and Kyle Bullinger each scored 10 points to lead the Wildcats, while Lindsey Hughey added nine and Scott Bamforth chipped in with seven.

Keith Shamburger led the Spartans with 21 points, while Wil Carter scored 16 and Justin Graham added 14 to give San Jose State three players in double figures.

Weber State, who dropped to 15-10 on the season, never led during the contest and trailed 30-22 at the half. The Spartans took a double-digit lead early in the second half and kept the Wildcats from getting within 10 points the rest of the way.

The Wildcats will have a quick turnaround as they return to Big Sky Conference action. Weber State will travel to Pocatello, Idaho to face Idaho State on Tuesday, Feb. 22.
