Weber State's Season Comes To An End With A 68-59 Loss at Oregon in the College Basketball Invitational

Eugene, Oregon - Oregon's Joevan Catron scored 24 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, leading the Ducks to a 68-59 home court win over Weber State in the first round of the College Basketball Invitational presented by Zebra Pen, Wednesday night before 4,375 at the new Matthew K. Knight Arena.
Catron scored 18 points and had 7 rebounds in the second half, to erase a 28-26 lead at half time by Weber State. Wildcat forward Byron Fulton tied the game at 35-35 with 13:18 left, but the Ducks took the lead for good seconds later on free throw by Catron who was 12-13 at the line. The Cat's closed to with four, 53-49 at the 5:17 mark on a three-pointer from Kyle Bullinger. That as close as the 'Cats would get. Oregon scored four unanswered points and kept the Wildcats at bay from the free throw line in the finl two minutes.
E.J. Singler, younger brother of Duke's Kyle Singler, was Oregon's only other double figure scorer with 16. Scott Bamforth led WSU with 17 points hitting 5-14 from the arc. Kyle Bullinger had 16 points and nine rebounds and Lindsey Hughey added 16.
Oregon now moves on to host Duquesne in a second round game in Eugene next Monday. The Ducks are now 17-17 this season. Weber State ends the 2010-11 season 18-14 overall and 11-5 in Big Sky Conference play. Wednesday's game was the final game for WSU seniors Trevor Morris and Lindsey Hughey. Morris leaves WSU as the school's career leader in Games Played with 122.
