'Cats Drop Final Two in Colorado

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- The Weber State men's tennis team wrapped up a three-match road trip this weekend, falling in the final two contests at the Air Force Academy. The Wildcats dropped a 4-3 decision to Lamar University on Saturday, and then suffered a 5-2 loss to Air Force on Sunday.
Against Lamar, the Wildcats won the doubles point with wins in the top two spots. Simon Unger and Oliver Good defeated Denis Ermilov and Dusan Savkovic 9-7 at No. 1, and Landon Barlow and Dave Hintze downed Marton Horvath and Robert Lee 8-4 at No. 2.
In singles play, Unger and Barlow collected wins in three sets. Unger defeated Ermilov 4-6, 6-3, 7-6 (2) in the No. 1 match, while Barlow got past Lee 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 at No. 2.
On Sunday, the 'Cats again took the doubles point by winning at No. 1 and 2. Unger and Good defeated Lance Wilhelm and Andy Jackson 8-6, and Barlow and Hintze beat Lucas Marin-Salcedo and Steven Young 8-3.
In singles, the Falcons rallied, taking the top five matches. Oliver Good picked up WSU's lone point with a 3-6, 6-3, 10-5 win over Alex Lineberry.
The Wildcats dropped to 4-9 on the season with the two losses. Weber State opened the trip with a 7-0 win over Northern Colorado to open the trip on Friday.
