LARAMIE, Wyo. - A penalty kick midway thought the second half proved to be the divider between the Wildcats and Cowgirls on Sunday afternoon.
Wyoming's Allison Masumiya converted a kick from the spot in the 66th minute after Weber State was whistled for a hand ball infraction inside the penalty area.
That goal was the only one of the match for either team as the Weber State University women's soccer team fell 1-0 to the Cowgirls at the Louis S. Madrid Complex.
"Our defense continues to play great; they're playing hard," Weber State coach Tim Crompton said. "We just need to find a way to be able to convert our chances in front of the goal."
The Wildcats outshot the Cowgirls 6-5 in the opening half, but Wyoming won the second half 6-4 to finish with an 11-10 advantage.
Freshman midfielder Kendra Bailey led Weber State with five shots, while seniors Jessie Baddley and Collette Simmons recorded three and two, respectively.
Weber State will wrap up its current six-match road swing on Friday night when it travels to Salt Lake City to face in-state rival Utah at 7:30 p.m. at Ute Field.
