Four Wildcats earn Preseason All-Big Sky honors

Oakley Anderson, Lily Blum, Lauren Butorac, and Isabella Sackett were all selected to the preseason team.

Weber State placed four players on the Big Sky Soccer preseason all-conference team for the 2026 season. 

Oakley Anderson, Lily Blum, Lauren Butorac, and Isabella Sackett were all selected to the preseason team.  

Anderson, a junior from North Salt Lake, Utah, earned honorable mention All-Big Sky honors in 2025. She started in all 20 matches and led the Wildcats in minutes played. She also recorded two assists on the season. 

Blum, a senior from Salt Lake City, was named to the All-Big Sky First Team last season. She also started all 20 matches for Weber State and scored four goals on the year. She had two game-winning goals and recorded nine total points. 

She has played in 56 matches with nine goals and 19 points in her Wildcat career. 

Lauren Burtorac was the Big Sky Freshman of the Year in 2025. The native of Portland, Oregon, was also named to the All-Tournament team. She finished second in the Big Sky in goals against average at 0.93. She also ranked third in the conference in shutouts with six and finished seventh in saves and ninth in saves per game. 

Butorac allowed 16 goals on the season, tied for the fourth-fewest in a season in Weber State history. She also had the third best goals against average in a season. 

Isabella Sackett is a junior defender out of Farmington, Utah. She also earned first-team All-Big Sky honors last season and was named to the All-Tournament team. Sackett started in 18 matches and played 90 minutes in nine matches. 

Weber State was also picked first in the Big Sky preseason poll of the league's head coaches.  

Head coach Kyle Christensen returns for his second season at the helm with the Wildcats after leading Weber State to a 12-6-2 overall record last year. Weber State was second in the Big Sky at 5-2-1 and advanced to the championship match of the conference tournament. Christensen was named the Big Sky Coach of the Year. 

The Wildcats host SLCC in a free exhibition match on Friday, August 7. The regular season begins on Wednesday, August 12, at Utah. Weber State has 10 regular season home matches this season.
