Wildcats swept in straight sets by Vikings

OGDEN, Utah - The Wildcats ran into a determined band of Vikings on Saturday night and didn't have an answer.
League co-leading Portland State bounced back from its first conference loss of the year to defeat the Weber State University women's volleyball team 25-18, 25-9, 25-12 in Big Sky Conference action at Swenson Gym.
Redshirt freshman Mariah Katoa lead Weber State with eight kills, but the Wildcats hit just .011 and committed 14 receiving errors.
Senior middle blocker Dama Cox and sophomore outside hitter Audrey Biggs each had five kills for the Wildcats, while senior libero Laurel Bodily had 12 digs. Freshman setter Whitney Hunt had 11 assists and seven digs.
Weber State fell to 2-8 in Big Sky action as the conference season hit the halfway point and 8-13 overall.
Portland State improved to 9-1 in league, 13-8 overall.
The Wildcats will return to action on Thursday as the head back out on the road for four straight matches, beginning at Northern Arizona.
