Montana Sweeps Weber State

OGDEN, Utah -- The University of Montana defeated Weber State 7-0 on Friday afternoon, dropping the Wildcats to 0-14 on the season overall and 0-4 in Big Sky Conference play.
"Montana is a very strong team," said WSU head coach Jonas Ehrlin. "They are one of the best teams in the Big Sky. We had some good performances in singles, especially at No. 3 and 4. The girls played really hard and had their chances."
The Grizzlies won every match in both doubles and singles en route to the sweep. Brittiny Moore and Ashley Tanner battled in doubles, but eventually fell 8-6 to Heather Davidson and Laurence Pelchat. In singles, Michelle Warwick fought to a third set, but was downed by Ashley Mackey 5-7, 6-4, 10-4 in the No. 3 match, while Nittaya Phonharath came up just short of a third set with a 6-2, 7-6 (7-3) loss at No. 4.
The Wildcats will have nearly two full weeks off before getting back to action. They will host Idaho State in a conference match on Wednesday, March 21.
