Wildcats Drop Match to Utah State 4-3

OGDEN, Utah -- Sweeping the doubles point did not pay off in the form of a win on Tuesday for the Weber State men's tennis team, as Utah State took four of six singles matches to steal a 4-3 win at the Ogden Athletic Club.
Simon Unger and Oliver Good got the Wildcats going with an 8-4 win in the No. 1 doubles match. The No. 2 team of Peter Ramstromer Pello and Caio Poitena, and the No. 3 team of Dave Hintze and Ryan Garner both pulled out 9-8 doubles wins to give WSU the sweep.
In singles, only Unger and Ramstromer Pello could earn points for Weber State. Unger defeated Sven Poslusny 6-3, 6-4 in the top singles match, while Ramstromer Pello took down Lenny Whiting in three sets at No. 3, winning 6-3, 4-6, 6-1.
Weber State (9-13) next will gear up for the Big Sky Conference Championship tournament, where they will face top-seeded Montana in the semifinals on April 21.
