Wildcat soccer falls 2-1 to UC Santa Barbara

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The Weber State University women's soccer team dropped its final non-conference match on Sunday afternoon, suffering a 2-1 setback to UC Santa Barbara at the Mather Sports Center.
All three goals in the match came in the final quarter hour, with the Gauchos scoring in the 76th and 79th minutes to take a 2-0 lead, before freshman forward Mackenzie Harrison pulled on back in the 86th to make it 2-1. Freshman midfielder Chansi Crompton had the assist on the goal, her team-leading third of the season.
Weber State recorded 10 of its 12 shots in the match during the second half, led by Harrison's six shots. The Kaysville, Utah native leads the Wildcats with 25 shots this season and has a team-high five points.
Santa Barbara (3-4-1) finished with 13 shots, with each team placing six shots on goal.
Weber State (2-7-0) will kick off the Big Sky Conference portion of its schedule on Friday against Eastern Washington in Cheney, Wash.
