ST. THOMAS, U.S. Virgin Islands – Weber State dropped its second game in the Paradise Jam Saturday afternoon, falling 72-58 to LSU. The Wildcats will face Nevada in the final game of the Paradise Jam on Monday.

The Tigers led 26-16 with 5:34 left in the first half when Weber State responded with an 11-1 run to cut the LSU lead to one at halftime.

LSU started the second half making nine of its first 10 shots. The Wildcats came back to tie the game at 41-41 with 14:35 remaining but the Tigers responded with a 12-3 run and never looked back.

“I thought we really got back to competing and fighting today,” said WSU head coach Randy Rahe. “They competed really hard and gave us a chance so I was pleased with their effort. LSU is a really good basketball team and they made the shots when they needed to. We made some mistakes and missed some shots but I thought we challenged them and executed our offense better today.”

The Tigers finished the game shooting 49 percent from the field but shot 61 percent in the second half. LSU had 52 points in the paint and outrebounded WSU 34-29. Weber State also committed 18 turnovers for the second-straight night, which led to 20 LSU points.

Joel Bolomboy led the Wildcats once again, finishing with 18 points and 13 rebounds for his second double-double of the season. Bolomboy was 5-of-12 from the field and 7-of-8 from the free throw line and added two blocked shots.

Jeremy Senglin had 15 points for the Wildcats, with 10 points coming in the first half. Senglin also had four assists and knocked down two 3-pointers. Chris Golden and Richaud Gittens each had eight for the Wildcats.

Jordan Mickey led LSU with 27 points and 14 rebounds. Keith Hornsby added 18 points for the Tigers.

Weber State falls to 1-3 on the season and will now face Nevada Monday in the final game of the tournament. That game will tipoff at 11:30 a.m. Mountain time.
