COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Riding a two-match winning streak and coming off a dramatic overtime victory, the Wildcats head out on the road for the first time this season.

The Weber State University women's soccer team heads to Colorado for two matches in the Colorado College Invitational, beginning on Friday afternoon with Colorado College and concluding on Sunday morning with the University of New Mexico.

The Wildcats and Tigers will meet at 4 p.m. at Colorado College's Stewart Field, the 'Cats match against the Lobos set for 10:30 a.m. on Sunday.

"The players are looking forward to going on the road and representing our University at the Colorado College tournament," Weber State coach Tim Crompton said. "We will compete against quality teams, and will have opportunities to grow as a team."

Weber State is 2-1-0 on the young season, having earned wins over Omaha and Wyoming over the weekend. Five different players scored for the Wildcats during the two matches, including two goals from the WSU forwards, two goals from the Wildcat midfield, and a goal from the defense.

Weber State and Colorado College will be meeting for just the second time in each programs history, with the Wildcats and Tigers battling to a 2-2 draw in double overtime on Sept. 22, 2002.

The Tigers are 1-1-1 overall and are coming off a 0-0 draw with Colgate on Saturday night in Hamilton, N.Y. Colorado College is currently riding a 15-match unbeaten streak (14-0-1) at home, and haven't lost at Stewart Field, which sits at an elevation of 6,035 feet, since Oct. 5, 2012, when the Tigers fell 2-1 in overtime to the University of Memphis.

New Mexico will be playing its first competition of the season this weekend due to the fallout of an alleged hazing scandal last month that resulted in the cancellation of the Lobos' season-opener at Texas Tech. New Mexico also announced that its entire team, minus the true freshmen, were suspended for one match, which would be served as soon as possible while still allowing the Lobos enough eligible players to field a full team. New Mexico will open up the Invite against Marquette at 1 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats and Lobos have met once previously, with Weber State taking a 2-0 win in Albuquerque, N.M., on Oct. 3, 1998.

Junior forward Mackenzie Harrison leads Weber State with four offensive points on a goal and two assists, and is coming off a week that saw her named as the Big Sky Conference's co-Offensive Player of the Week. Her goal on Sunday against Wyoming was the match winner, coming just 33 seconds into the overtime period.

Junior forward Stacy Bair had three points with a goal and an assist over the weekend, with the helper coming on Harrison's winning tally.

Junior central midfielder Chansi Crompton, senior midfielder Mackenzie Peck, and junior central defender Brecken Holbrook also scored for the Wildcats.

Defensively, Weber State has allowed three goals, only one of which came during run of play, and has a 1.00 Goals-Against Average in 270:33 of time played.

After this weekend's road trip, Weber State returns home to face Hawai'i and UTEP next weekend at Wildcat Soccer Field.
