OGDEN, Utah – A strong start by Eastern Washington boosted the Eagles to a 69-55 win over Weber State in the Big Sky Conference opener Thursday night at the Dee Events Center.

“The first half was not the team that we've been,” Head Coach Bethann Ord said. “We weren't aggressive offensively and we dug ourselves into too big of a hole and that hurt us.”

Eastern Washington shot 56.3 percent from the field, 57.1 percent from beyond the arc and 63.6 percent from the free throw line.
“We are going to have clean it up and get back to the basics,” Ord said. “We need to take care of the basketball and convert the little opportunities before we play Idaho.”
The Wildcats will continue Big Sky play Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. where they will go up against the Idaho Vandals at the Dee Events Center.
