OGDEN -- Weber State never trailed and rolled to an 83-57 win over Southern Virginia Saturday night in an exhibition game at the Dee Events Center.

The 'Cats now prepare for the season opener Friday against Utah State.

The Wildcats jumped out to a 20-6 lead as they made six of their first eight shots. WSU led by as many as 27 in the first half while shooting 59 percent from the floor.

WSU extended its lead to as many as 33 points in the second half as the Knights never got closer than 22.

Weber State shot 48 percent from the field and held Southern Virginia to 38 percent. The 'Cats were 7-of-24 from 3-point range and outrebounded the Knights 38-31.

“It was nice to play in front of a crowd and against another team and I thought our team played hard,” said WSU head coach Randy Rahe. “They were a little nervous at times but we did some good things and were able to get a lot of minutes to a lot of players.”

Four Wildcats scored in double figures and all but one Wildcat that played scored. Weber State's only senior Joel Bolomboy posted a double-double with 19 points and 12 rebounds to go along with three blocked shots.

Junior Kyndahl Hill added 15 points and nine rebounds and was 6-of-7 from the field coming off the bench. Sophomore Ryan Richardson started the game and had 12 points and Jeremy Senglin added 10.

The Wildcats open the 2015-16 regular season Friday, Nov. 13 with a 7 p.m. home game against in-state rival Utah State.
