OGDEN -- Weber State won its fifth straight game with a 95-57 win over Pacific Union Tuesday night at the Dee Events Center.
Four Wildcats scored in double figures and 12 players scored for Weber State. Joel Bolomboy had 20 points and 13 rebounds for his seventh double-double in as many games this season to lead the 'Cats. The senior was 6-of-9 from the field and a perfect 8-of-8 from the free throw line to go along with two blocked shots.
Freshman Zach Braxton had a career-high 15 points and grabbed five rebounds. Kyndahl Hill and McKay Cannon each added 10 points for the 'Cats.
The Wildcats jumped out to an early 25-7 lead after a 17-0 run and never looked back. The Wildcats led 47-26 at halftime. WSU led by as many as 40 points and the Pioneers were never closer than 23 in the second half.
“We were able to get several players some key minutes tonight which was one of our main goals,” said WSU head coach Randy Rahe. “We were a little flat in the first half but came out and played well in the second half and had good ball movement. We're focusing on the process and continuing to try to get better.”
Weber State shot 54 percent from the field and held Pacific Union to 35 percent shooting. The 'Cats also added 20 assists and outrebounded the Pioneers 43-29.
Pacific Union, an NAIA school out of Angwin, Calif., had six blocks and four steals and knocked down six 3-pointers.
The Wildcats improve to 5-2 on the season. Weber State will play its next four games away from home starting Saturday when the Wildcats take on BYU. The game will be played at the Vivint Smart Home Arena in Salt Lake City and will begin at 1 p.m.
