OGDEN - Six Wildcats scored in double figures as Weber State opened the season with a bang, rolling to a 128-65 win over Antelope Valley Friday night at the Dee Events Center. The 128 points is tied for the most in school history.

Weber State shot 69.6 percent from the field, the third best shooting percentage in a game in school history. The Wildcats also knocked down 16 3-pointers, the fourth most in a game, and had nine blocked shots, tied for the second most in a game. The 128 points tied the school record set in 1975.

Weber State led 10-8 4:23 into the game, before going on a 30-11 run over the next eight minutes to break the game open. WSU closed the first half on a 19-3 run in the final six minutes and led 59-27 at halftime.

Antelope Valley was never closer than 30 points the rest of the way and the 'Cats led by as many as 65, before settling for the 63-point win, the third largest margin of victory in school history.

Senior guard Jeremy Senglin, a Big Sky Preseason All-Conference selection, led the way with 24 points, all coming in the first half. He knocked down six 3-pointers, including three in the final three minutes of the half.

Senior Richaud Gittens had 19 points on 7-of-8 shooting and had two thunderous dunks.

Dusty Baker added 16 points and seven assists off the bench. Zach Braxton had 13 points, eight rebounds and a career-high six blocks, Cody John added 14 points and Kyndahl Hill had 12.

Weber State outrebounded Antelope Valley 47-27 and forced 14 turnovers by the Pioneers.

The Wildcats now hit the road for their next five games, starting Tuesday at Pepperdine. WSU will also play at Stanford on Thursday before heading to the Great Alaska Shootout.
