BOZEMAN, Mont. – As the Big Sky Championships approach the final four games of the season are crucial for the Wildcats. Weber State fell to Montana State who is currently sitting atop of the Big Sky standings 92-71 Thursday night.

"When you go against a team like this without all your weapons it's tough to come up on top," said head coach Bethann Ord. "Montana State exposed us inside and we weren't able to counter on the other end."

Montana State started the game off with a 9-0 run. Weber State couldn't ever catch up and trailed by at least nine the entire first quarter. The score was 12-21 going into the second quarter.

Early in the second quarter the Wildcats went on a 7-2 run and brought the score within six but the Bobcats answered with a 6-0 run. Weber State only score two free throws in the last five minutes of the first half. Montana State had a 29-45 lead going into half time.

Montana State did nothing but charge in the second half and Weber State could not manage to catch up. Late in the fourth quarter the Bobcats pushed their lead to 24. In the last minute of the game Weber State went on a 7-0 run but it wasn't enough and the Wildcats fell 71-92 to Montana State.

Weber State had three athletes score in double figures. Brittney Dunbar and Emily Drake had 16 points each, which was a career high for Drake. Deeshyra Thomas also score in double figures adding 10 points for the Wildcats.

Dunbar and Cece Wooten shared the game high of rebounds with four each. Dunbar also had four steals and four assists on the night.

Montana State had two athletes score over 20 points in the game. Riley Nordgaard dropped 23 points for the Bobcats and pulled down 10 rebounds. Peyton Ferris went 16-17 from the field for 33 points.

Weber State shot 38 percent from the field while Montana State shot 62 percent from the field. Weber State had 14 turnovers to MSU's 25. The Wildcats were out rebounded 21-45.

Weber State is now 10-5 in Big Sky Conference play and 18-8 overall on the season.  WSU will play the final road game of the season against Montana on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. The final home games of the season will be March 2 against Idaho and March 4 against Eastern Washington before heading to Reno, Nev. for the Big Sky Championships.
