The Weber State women's tennis team dropped its first Big Sky Conference match of the season to reigning Big Sky Conference champions Idaho with a score of 1-6.
"I'm very proud of the girls today," Director of Tennis Brad Ferreira said. "We played a very strong team and the girls kept fighting until the end. If a couple of different points went our way the results could have been different but overall it was an excellent effort."
Weber State struggled in doubles play as Idaho came out vicotrious in two of the three doubles matches claiming the doubles point. The duo of Agata Bachanek and Devi Hasan won in the No. 3 spot with a score of 6-3.Â
The Wildcats struggled in singles play. Hasan picked up the lone Weber State point in the No. 5 spot as she took down Badillos 6-2, 6-2.Â
Weber State is now 2-8 overall on the season and 2-1 in Big Sky Conference play. The Wildcats will next travel to Denver, Colo. to take on Metro State March 4 before heading to Northern Colorado March 5 to continue conference play.Â
