'Cats fall 7-0 to Portland

PORTLAND, Ore - Weber State University's men's tennis team fell 7-0 to the University of Portland Sunday afternoon.
In doubles play the pair of Landon Barlow and Hou-En Chen had the lone doubles victory and defeated C. Donat and K. Andreason 6-5 in the No. 3 doubles spot. Portland picked up wins in the No. 1 and No. 2 spots giving them the doubles point.
In singles play Jakub Gewert took his match into three sets but couldn't pull out the last set and fell to Pervolavakis 6-2, 2-6, 6-4 in the No. 1 spot.
Todd Fought also took his match into three sets but fell to M. Garcia 6-2, 0-6, 6-2. Stefan Cooper had a well fought close match but couldn't pull out a win falling to 6-3, 6-4 to P. Garcia.
Portland swept the match claiming all seven points despite Weber State's strong efforts.
The Wildcats are 4-5 overall on the season and will next take on the Santa Clara before taking on UC RIverside to finish up a four match road trip.
