COLUMBIA, Mo. – While the Wildcats first trip into SEC country didn't end with a victory, the Purple and White are ready to turn their full attention to the Big Sky Conference season.

The Weber State University women's soccer team fell 3-1 to Missouri on Sunday afternoon at Walton Soccer Field, as the Wildcats wrapped up the non-conference portion of their season at 2-4-1.

Weber State will host defending Big Sky tournament champion Northern Colorado in both team's league opener at 3:30 p.m. on Friday at Wildcat Soccer Field.

Missouri (6-3-0) tallied the opening goal in the 21st minute, but the Wildcats responded just three minutes later when freshman forward Paige Stevens opened up her career scoring account.

With an opening in the Tigers' box, Stevens' initial shot went off the crossbar and came right back to her for a second opportunity, and that one found its way to the back of the net to level things up at 1-1 in the 24th.

Missouri scored the eventual match-winner in the 27th with a hard shot from distance, and added a late insurance goal to wrap up the scoring.
