Wildcats beat Waves 72-67 for second-straight win

OGDEN - Jerrick Harding posted 26 points as Weber State held off a Pepperdine second half rally to defeat the Waves 72-67 Tuesday night at the Dee Events Center.
The win moves the Wildcats to 6-5 overall this season and 5-0 at home.
Weber State shot 62 percent from the field in the second half and held a 43-27 lead at the break. Pepperdine opened the second half on a 24-6 run and took its first lead at 51-49 with 12:41 to play.
The Waves led again by one at 54-53 when Weber State went on an 11-4 run of its own, capped by a Ryan Richardson 3-pointer to take a six point lead with 5:13 to play. That was WSU's last field goal of the game but the Wildcats were a perfect 8 of 8 from the free throw line in the final four minutes to seal the win.
Weber State shot 52 percent from the field, to improve to 5-0 when shooting 50 percent from the field. The 'Cats also knocked down eight 3-pointers and was 10 of 13 from the free throw line. Pepperdine outrebounded the Wildcats 37-26.
Harding led the Wildcats in scoring for the fourth-straight game and scored 20 or more points for the seventh time in 11 games. He was 11 of 18 from the field, including 2 of 5 from 3-point range.
Ryan Richardson added 18 points and made four 3-pointers, while Zach Braxton added 14 points. Michal Kozak grabbed a career-high 11 rebounds.
The Wildcats will host Presentation College Friday night at the Dee Events Center in the final non-conference game of the season.
