Weber State ends season with 4-3 win over Montana

Weber State men's tennis team ended the 2017 season with a great 4-3 victory over the University of Montana Sunday afternoon.
The Wildcats had a slow jump in doubles play but still managed to come out with the doubles point. Stefan Cooper and Shao-Po Yin defeated Max Korkh and Peter Fleming-Mimnagh 7-5 in the No. 1 spot,
Cezary Walkusz and Hou-En Chen picked up a 7-5 win in the No. 3 spot giving WSU the crucial doubles point advantage going into singles play.
In singles competition the first Wildcat to pick up a victory in singles play was Yin. He defeated Fleming-Mimnagh in three sets in the No. 1 spot with 3-6, 6-2, 6-3.
Montana had already picked up wins in the No. 2 and No. 3 spots so things were all tied up at 2-2 with three singles matches still to finish.
Chen came through big with a 3-6, 7-6, 6-3 win in the No. 4 spot over Korkh giving WSU the 3-2 overall lead. Michiel Van Schoor finished things up for the Wildcats with a 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 win over Ignacio Tejerina in the No 5 spot giving Weber State the 4-3 win to end the season.
Weber State finished the season with a 8-12 overall record and 5-6 in Big Sky play.
