Men's basketball again in top 100 nationally in attendance

WSU led the Big Sky in attendance for the ninth-straight year.
For the seventh straight year, Weber State men's basketball ranked in the top 100 in the nation in attendance. The Wildcats finished with the 78th highest attendance average in the country according to attendance number released by the NCAA.
For the 2016-17 season, Weber State averaged 6,869 fans per game for the 13 home games, which is the highest attendance average in more than 20 years. A total of 89,298 fans attended Wildcat games this past season at the Dee Events Center. The national home attendance average for all Division I schools last season was 4,799 fans per game.
The 6,869 average per game is the best for Weber State since averaging 7,413 fans during the 1995-96 season.
The Wildcats also led the Big Sky Conference in attendance for the ninth straight season, averaging more than 3,000 fans more than the second-place team. The 'Cats have now led the conference in attendance in 14 of the last 16 years. The Big Sky Conference finished 21st in attendance and the average for the conference was 2,098 fans per game.
Weber State had the 14th highest attendance average among schools in the western United States. The Wildcats also finished with a higher attendance average than five Pac-12 schools, six Mountain West schools and nine West Coast schools.
In 11 years under head coach Randy Rahe, Weber State has posted a 137-25 (.846) record at the Dee Events Center. Rahe, WSU's all-time leader in coaching wins, is 83-12 (.874) at home in Big Sky regular season games.
