Wildcats fall in final non conference game of the season

OGDEN – Weber State women's basketball fell 71-39 in the final non-conference game of the season against UC Riverside.
"We have a lot of growing to do," said head coach Velaida Harris.
UC Riverside never trailed in the game and the Highlanders jumped out to a quick 26-6 lead at the end of the first quarter. UCR led by as many as 22 points in the first half and led 38-16 at half time.
The Wildcats put up 13 points in the fourth quarter which was WSU's best quarter of the game.
Weber State shot 24 percent from the field, 28 percent from the three and 58 percent from the free throw line. UCR shot 49 percent from the field, 66 percent from the three and 55 percent from the free throw line.
The Wildcats were led by Jaiamoni Welch-Coleman who dropped 12 points. Dominique Williams had a solid night on the rebounds with nine.
Weber State is now 3-7 overall on the season and will start Big Sky Conference action with Eastern Washington on Dec. 29 and Idaho on Dec. 31 both games will be at 2:00 p.m. at the Dee Events Center.
