Weber State makes clean 7-0 sweep of Portland State

Weber State women's tennis dominated Portland State Friday morning with a clean 7-0 sweep of the Vikings.
"This was a solid performance from the whole team today," said head coach Mark Roberts. "Everyone showed up and took care of their court. We had some close matches, and I was so proud of how mentally tough we stayed and kept competing for every point, and found a way to win.I can't wait to get back out to practice and ready for a good three match stretch next weekend."
WSU started off claiming the doubles point. To start things off, Dominique Beauvais and Morgan Dickason won by default and then Wildcat duo Caitlin Herb and Pei_Hsuan Kuo defeated Siena Peri and Eszter Zador 6-4 in the No. 1 spot.
Weber State had the point advantage going into singles play.
In singles action, Â Weber State picked up another default win in the No. 6 spot. In the No. 5 spot Dickason picked up a nice 6-1, 6-1 victory over Ashley Knecht.
To follow that up Sara Parker took down Gerda Upeniece 6-0, 6-2 in the No. 3 spot. The rest of the matches went into tie breakers.
Herb ended up defeating Zador 3-6, 6-1 (10-6) in the No. 2 spot and Beauvais defeated Taylor Rees in tie break with scores  4-6, 6-4 (12-10).
To finish everything off and make a clean sweep of the VIkings, Kuo defeated Peri 2-6, 7-6 (7-4), (12-10).
Weber State is now 6-6 overall on the season and are 3-1 in Big Sky Conference play. The Wildcats have a big upcoming weekend as they will next Wyoming, Northern Colorado and Colorado State.
