OGDEN - Weber State women's tennis had a rough day as they fell 5-2 to Idaho State Friday afternoon.
"Well done to Idaho State today," said head coach Mark Roberts. "They came into our house, were more competitive and took the match away from us. This wasn't the greatest team performance for us, but hopefully we learn from our mistakes and make improvements for the next match."
WSU started off strong by picking up a win in the No. 1 doubles spot. Caitlin Her and Pei_Hsuan Kuo defeated Huibre-Mare Botes and Louise-Mare Botes 6-1. Unfortunately, no other Wildcat duo could pull out a victory in doubles and the Bengals claimed the doubles advantage.
In singles action, only two Wildcats picked up victories. Dominique Beauvais played solid tennis defeating Melissa Coburn 6-2, 6-1 in the No. 4 spot.
Morgan Dickason also came up with a Wildcat victory 6-4, 6-1 win in the No. 5 spot over Angela Walker.
WSU is now 5-6 overall on the season and 2-1 in Big Sky Conference play. Up next, Weber State will hit the road for four consecutive matches starting at Portland State.
