Weber State women's tennis picked up a nice 4-2 win Friday afternoon over Santa Clara University.
"This was a great win for our program today," said head coach Mark Roberts. "Santa Clara is a very good team and the girls played well and fought hard, it was outstanding."
Weber State started out slow by dropping the doubles point. It wasn't a clean sweep however, as Wildcat duo Sara Parker and Dominique Beauvais defeated Elvena Gevargiz and Katya Tabachnik 6-1 in the No. 2 spot.
In singles action, Pei_Hsuan Kuo picked up a win by retirement in the No. 1 spot. Beauvais kept things rolling with a 6-4, 6-4 win over Gevargiz in the No. 4 spot.
Parker also came up big 6-4, 6-4 win in the No. 3 spot by defeating Zeina El Tawil. Weber State needed just one more match to clinch and McKenna Lloyd did just that.
Lloyd took down Nadine Del Carmen 7-6, 2-6, 6-2 in the No. 6 spot to give WSU the overall 4-2 victory.
Weber State is now 8-7 overall on the season and will continue Big Sky action tomorrow against Montana State at 3:30 p.m. following the men's team's final home match of the season against Sac State.
