Cross takes 20th at NCAA Championships

Weber State track and field senior Jordan Cross finished 20th in the steeplechase and did not advance to the finals at the NCAA Track and Field Championships, held at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.Â
Cross posted a time of 9:00.82 in the semifinals of the steeplechase Wednesday. That time was 10th in this flight and 20th overall in the event. The top 12 times advanced to the finals.
The meet ended a strong season for Cross who competed at the NCAA's for the first time in his career. He qualified for the event by finishing seventh in the steeplechase at the NCAA West Preliminary Round in Sacramento. He posted a career best time of 8:41.72 to qualify for the event.Â
Cross, an alum of Ogden High School, won the Big Sky title in the steeplechase last month in Moscow, Idaho, posting a time of 9:01.49.
He will return as a senior for the Wildcat men's cross country team this fall.Â
