Wildcats Wrap Up Fall Season With 7th Place in Hawaii

The Weber State women's golf team concluded the 2019 fall season on Wendesday, finishing the Rainbow Wahine Invitational with an 7th place finish at the Kapolei Golf Club in Kapolei, O'ahu, Hawaii.
The Wildcats opened the tournament with a team score of 295 on Monday, and followed up with a pair of 298's on Tuesday and Wednesday for a team score of 891.
Kirsten Convoy led Weber State, finishing in a tie for 17th place with a three-round total of 3-over-par 219. Convoy shot an even-par 72 on the opening day and a 4-over-par 76 on Tuesday. In the final round, she carded four birdies in a 1-under-par 71, moving up eight spots on the leaderboard.
Kameryn Basye opened the tournament with back-to-back 73's and added a final round 75 to finish in a tie for 24th place at 5-over-par 221.Â
Gabby DeNunzio shot rounds of 77-73-77 for a total of 227 to tie for 40th place, while Morgan Bentley tied for 46th place at 229 after rounds of 73-80-76. Lydia Austin rounded out the Wildcats, tying for 53rd place with rounds of 79-76-76 for a total of 231.
Sacramento State shot a three-round total of 863 to claim the team championship. The Hornets shot a 3-under-par final round to overtake Cal Poly atop the leaderboard. Brigham Young rebounded from an opening round 300 to shoot under-par scores in the final two rounds to finish second, three shots behind Sacramento State.
Sacramento State's Tess Blair shot rounds of 71-70-66 for a 9-under-par 207 to earn individual medalist honors. Blair finished five shots clear of two players in second place.
The Wildcats will kick off the 2020 spring season on March 2 at the Battle at Boulder Creek in Boulder City, Nev.
