Wildcats Rally With Strong Second Round Finish at Big Sky Championships

LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. – The Weber State women's golf team recorded 13 birdies over the final five holes to jump into fourth place in the second round of the Big Sky Conference Championships at Wigwam Golf Club on Tuesday.
The Wildcats shot a 2-over par 286 on the day, jumping three spots on the leaderboard, and are at 19-over par 587 through 36 holes.
Isabel Gutierrez and Cala Korman each shot a 1-under par 70 on Tuesday to lead the team on the day. Gutierrez carded four birdies on the day, including a pair on the final two holes, and moved into a tie for 16th place at 6-over par 148. Korman also posted four birdies on Tuesday, three of which came over her final five holes of the day, and she jumped to a tie for 22nd place at 8-over par 150.
Jade Gruher shot a 3-over par 74 on the day, but recorded three of her four birdies down the stretch. She continues to lead the team for the tournament, sitting in a tie for 9th place at 3-over par 145.
Emma Lillywhite also shot 74 in the second round, carding all three of her birdies over the final five hole run, and is in a tie for 12th place at 4-over par 146.
Emily Song was substituted in the lineup for Sofia Fuenmayor for the second round and shot a 1-over par total of 72.
Sacramento State shot a 1-over par 286 on the day to drop back to 1-under par for the tournament, but increased its lead to 10 shots over Montana State, which is in second place at 9-over par. Northern Arizona shot 1-over on the day and is in third place at 14-over par, five shots ahead of Weber State.
