Weber State sweeps Sac State in three

OGDEN - Weber State volleyball took on Sacramento State and came away with a 3-0 sweep over the Hornets.
How it happened: WSU started the game with a 7-0 run that all started with a kill by Hannah Hill-DeYoung. Weber State put together a 6-0 later in the set to take a 20-5 lead over the Hornets. The Wildcats ended the set on a 5-0 run to take the first with a 25-7 score. WSU ended up hitting .722 in the first set.
The second set was all tied up at a 5-5 score and block by Ashlyn Power and Aubrey Saunders-Adams sparked a 6-0 WSU run. Sacramento State made a push later in the set to bring the score to 22-18. Back-to-back kills by Dani Nay gave Weber State the second set win with a 25-19 score.
WSU had all the momentum going into the third set. Despited a slow start, WSU pushed out for a 14-9 lead in the third set. Sac State battled back to tie the match up 22-22. Rylin Roberts came up with a kill to give WSU the edge and Megan Gneiting dropped an ace to take WSU to set point. The Wildcats were able to execute and finish out the third set 25-23.
Killing It: The Wildcats were led by Roberts who had 12 kills from 36 attacks with just two errors for a .278 percentage. Gneitng was not far behind with 11 kills from 21 attacks and three errors for a .381 percentage. Nay also recorded double digit kills with 10 from 25 attacks with one error for a .360 percentage.
Power came away with 35 assists on the night.
Digging it: Helena Khouri led WSU in digs with 18 and Katelyn Eriwin added 10. In total, Weber State had 56 digs.
Blocking it: Saunders-Adams ended the night with five total blocks for WSU's high. In total, Weber State had seven team blocks.
Notes to know: WSU is now 19-7 overall on the season and 10-5 in Big Sky play.
Next Up: The Wildcats will stay on the road and take on Portland State Nov. 16 before returning home for WSU's final home series of the season Nov. 21 and Nov. 23.
