Three-peat! Wildcats win third-straight Big Sky title

With the win, the Wildcats clinched the automatic berth in the FCS Playoffs and now advance to the playoffs for the fourth-straight year.Â
The 2019 NCAA FCS Playoffs Selection Show will be Sunday, Nov. 24 at 10:30 a.m. Mountain time and will be televised on ESPNU.Â
The 'Cats finish the regular season 9-3 overall and 7-1 in conference play for the third-straight year.Â

In Saturday's game, Weber State scored on its third play from scrimmage and never let up. Jake Constantine found David Ames for a 69-yard touchdown with 13:33 left in the first quarter to give the 'Cats a 7-0 lead.Â
The Wildcats scored 24 points in the second quarter to blow the game open. Trey Tuttle made a 37-yard field goal, then Constantine hit Devon Cooley for a 38-yard touchdown. Josh Davis ran for a 24-yard score, then Cooley caught a 25-yard touchdown from Constantine with eight seconds left in the quarter and the Wildcats led 31-0 at halftime.Â
As a team, Weber State totaled 443 yards of offense, compared to 186 for the Bengals, the fewest points allowed by the Wildcats in a game this season. WSU totaled 289 passing yards and rushed for 154 yards, and held Idaho State to just 50 yards rushing. Â
Constantine finished the day 16 of 23 passing for 289 yard and four touchdowns. David Ames led the receivers with four catches for 140 yards and a touchdown and Devon Cooley had three catches for 68 yards and a touchdown.Â
Josh Davis had 12 carries for 88 yards and a touchdown. He also surpassed 1,000 rushing yards on the season now with 1,015 yards on the year. He also moved past Fine Unga into fifth place on the Weber State all-time rushing list with 2,377 career yards.
Defensively, Conner Mortensen had eight tackles with two tackles for loss. Adam Rodriguez, George Tarlas, Jayden Palauni, McKade Mitton and Sione Lapuaho each had a sack. Weber State recorded 11 tackles for loss and three pass breakups.Â
