Wildcats slow fourth quarter leads to 70-50 loss to Vandals

OGDEN – Weber State women's basketball had a slow fourth quarter that led to a 70-50 loss to Idaho Saturday night.
How it happened: Weber State and the Vandals were neck and neck for most of the first quarter being tied 14-14 with two minutes left. Idaho sunk a three to take a 17-14 lead but Kayla Walker answered with a jumper to cut the lead to 17-16 as the first quarter ended.
WSU slowed down on momentum in the second quarter. The game was tied 22-22 and the Vandals went on an 11-0 run and held WSU scoreless for nearly five minutes. Idaho had a 40-33 lead at the half.
Weber State outscored Idaho 15-12 in the third quarter and brought the score within four points. Going into the fourth quarter, Weber State trailed 52-48.
The Wildcats had a slow fourth quarter as the Vandals held WSU scoreless for nine minutes. Weber State ended up falling
Leaders: Liz Graves, Watkins and Ciara James all tied for the game high each scoring eight points a piece. Ula Chamberlin was close behind with seven points. Watkins ended the night with the game high rebounds with 10.
Comparison: Weber State shot 33 percent from the field, 26 percent from the three and 75 percent from the free throw line. WSU ended the game with 43 total rebounds.
Idaho shot 34 percent from the field, 23 percent from the three and 68 percent from the line. Idaho had 46 total rebounds on the night.
Notes to know: Weber State is now 2-9 overall on the season and 0-2 in Big Sky Conference play.
