'Cats fall 85-61 at Northern Colorado

GREELEY, Colo. - Weber State dropped its second-straight game as the Wildcats fell 85-61 to Northern Colorado Thursday night at the Bank of Colorado Arena.
Weber State led 11-9 early on when Northern Colorado used an 18-3 run to break the game open and led 40-29 at halftime. The Bears had several more runs in the second half and led by as many as 28 before the 24-point win.
The Bears outrebounded the Wildcats 36-22 and UNC shot 53 percent from the field, compared to 46 percent for Weber State. The Wildcats also had 14 turnovers which the Bears turned into 23 points.
WSU was led by junior Jerrick Harding who returned from an ankle injury to score 15 points. Israel Barnes had 11 points and six rebounds while Zach Braxton added 11 points and five rebounds. Freshman Donatas Kupsas had a career-high with nine points on three 3-pointers.
Senior Jordan Davis led Northern Colorado with 34 points.
Weber State now sits at 16-12 overall and 10-7 in Big Sky play with three games remaining in the regular season.
The Wildcats conclude their three-game road trip Monday night, March 4 at Idaho State. WSU will be back home for the final two regular season games next weekend against Idaho and Eastern Washington.
