'Cats fall to Montana in Big Sky semifinals

BOISE, Idaho - Montana started out hot and never let up as the Grizzlies rolled to a 78-49 win over Weber State in the semifinals of the Big Sky Tournament Friday in Boise, Idaho.
Montana never trailed and jumped out to a 10-2 lead, shot 56 percent from the field in this first half and led 42-22 at halftime as Weber State shot just 32 percent from the field.
The second half was all Montana as well as the Grizzlies led by as many as 37 points and Weber State was never closer than 19.
The Grizzlies finished the game shooting 47 percent from the field, while Weber State shot 31 percent. The 'Cats were 5 of 21 from 3-point range, while Montana was 10 of 27. UM also outrebounded the Wildcats 42-31.
Senior Brekkott Chapman led Weber State with 16 points and three 3-pointers. Michal Kozak finished with 10 points and four rebounds and Zach Braxton added nine points and six rebounds.
The loss drops the Wildcats to 18-15 overall on the season.
