Weber State men's tennis fell 4-0 to Boise State Saturday afternoon.
"We just got outplayed today," Director of Tennis Brad Ferreira said. "We played very slow in doubles and then we got up in most of our singles matches in the first set but could not finish them. We had good chances to win the first sets in No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4 but we did not close them out. That turned the match in Boise State's favor and we did not recover."
Boise State started the match by claiming the doubles point. The Broncos won in spots No. 2 and No. 3 while the No. 1 spot did not finish.
In singles action, Boise State claimed victories in the No. 4 spot, Paul Ohde was close in his first set only falling 6-4 but couldn't maintain momentum and fell 6-1 in the second set to give BSU's Arca Costas the win.
In the No. 2 spot, Michiel Van Schoor got up early in the first set but fell 7-5 and couldn't get any ground in the second set falling 6-0. Â
In the No. 6 spot, Cezary Walkusz came close to pulling out his second set to give WSU a fighting chance but he couldn't finish and fell narrowly 7-5.
Kris van Wyk won his first set 6-3, lost his second set 3-6 and was up 4-1 in the third set before the match went unfinished.
Weber State is now 4-8 overall on the season and will next take on UC Irvine, Montana and Montana State this upcoming week.
