Weber State downs Portland State 6-1

OGDEN – Weber State women's tennis team has continued to roll this season by picking up a 6-1 win over Portland State.
"The ladies played very well today and it was a great start to the weekend," said head coach Mark Roberts. "We look forward to another close match with Eastern Washington tomorrow."
The Wildcats started the match off by claiming the doubles point. WSU duo Sarah Parker and Pei_Hsuan Kuo defeated Taylor Rees and Jacinta Milenkoski 6-3. To follow that up, Calli Fuller and Megan Lombardi defeated Eszter Zador and Alli Vaulk 6-4.
With the two doubles victory Weber State claimed the doubles point and the No. 1 doubles spot went unfinished.
In singles action, Weber State's Lombardi started things off with a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Zador in the No. 4 spot.
In the No. 3 spot, Fuller defeated Nina Nikitovic 6-2, 6-2. Kuo was the next to finish in the No. 1 spot as she defeated Milenkoski 6-3, 6-3.
In the No. 2 spot Yuuna Ukita came up with an impressive 6-3, 6-3 win over Lotti Meszaros. At this point in the match, Weber State was up 5-0 and Portland State picked up a win in the No. 5 spot to give them one point in the match.
As things came to an end McKenna Lloyd was the final Wildcat to pick up a victory on the day. Lloyd defeated Rees 6-3, 7-6 (8-6).
WSU claimed the match victory 6-1. The Wildcats are now 7-4 overall on the season and 1-1 in Big Sky play. WSU has an action packed week as they take on Eastern Washington tomorrow followed by four matches over the course of the next week.
