Wildcats fall 6-1 to Lumberjacks
4/7/2019 11:47:00 AM | Men's Tennis
The Weber State men's tennis team fought well but fell 6-1 to Northern Arizona Saturday afternoon.
"I'm impressed with the guys today," head coach Brad Ferriera said. "Not easy to play outdoors at this elevation and with the way the season has been going. Everyone competed exceptionally well today against the only undefeated team in the conference."
Northern Arizona started off by claiming the doubles advantage point by picking up wins in the No. 1 and No. 2 spots.
In singles action the only Wildcat to pick up a victory was Bo-Han LI. He defeated Chris Steele 6-4, 6-4 in the No. 3 spot.
Several other Wildcats took their matches into a full three sets. In the No. 1 spot, Kris van Wyk went into three sets after dropping the first set 6-2, winning the second 6-2 and went on to drop the third 6-2.
In the No. 4 spot Paul Ohde also went into a full three set. He won his first set 7-6 but fell 6-1, 6-3 in his second and third sets.
Weber State is now 4-14 overall on the season and 1-6 in Big Sky action. WSU will return home to take on Air Force on Monday, April 8.
