Weber State women's basketball struggled finding momentum and fell to Montana 85-57 Saturday afternoon.

How it happened:Weber State started the game hanging close to Montana trailing just 11-8 with 3:47 remaining in the first quarter. The Griz then went on a 15-2 run over the Wildcats to close out the quarter for a 28-12 lead.

In the second quarter, Weber State struggled to find the basket going on a 3:45 scoring drought that Montana capitalized on with a 6-0 run. The Griz pushed on for a 47-24 lead at halftime.

The third quarter proved to be the best for Weber State as they had 22 points in the quarter. Ula Chamberlin had eight points in the quarter.

WSU struggled finding any momentum to cut the score deficit in the second half and UM pushed on for an 85-57 victory over the Wildcats.

Leaders: The Wildcats were led by Liz Graves who had 16 points on the day. Daryn Hickok also rocked double figures with 11. Hickok, Chamberlin and Jadyn Matthews all contributed five boards a piece to the Wildcats rebounding numbers. Chamberlin also had four steals.

Comparison: Weber State shot 40 percent from the field and 77 percent from the free throw line. Weber State went 0-5 from beyond the arc. WSU ended the game with 31 total rebounds, 22 turnovers and six assists. WSU had 34 points in the paint and 20 off the bench.

Montana shot 51 percent from the field, 50 percent from the three point line and 67 percent from the line. The Griz ended the night with 31 total rebounds, 18 assists and 11 turnovers. Montana had 34 points in the paint and 42 off the bench and capitalized on 31 points off of turnovers.

Notes to know: Weber State is now 3-15 overall on the season and 1-8 in Big Sky Conference play. This is the first time since the 2013-14 season that WSU did not make a single three point field goal.

Up Next: Weber State will return to Ogden and the Dee Events Center to take on Southern Utah on Jan. 30 and Northern Colorado on Feb. 1.
