• Weber State men's basketball begins the 59th season of Division I basketball this Wednesday night hosting Adams State at the Dee Events Center. The game will tipoff at 7 p.m. and will be streamed online for free on Pluto TV 1004 and on WatchBigSky.com. Due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, no spectators will be allowed at home games at the Dee Events Center through at least Dec. 31, 2020.

• The Wildcats return just four players off last year's team that finished 12-20 overall and was eighth in the Big Sky at 8-12. Jerrick Harding, a four-time All-Big Sky performer, finished his career last season as Weber State's all-time leading scorer and ranks in the WSU career top 10 in 12 different categories.

• Seniors Michal Kozak and Kham Davis and sophomores KJ Cunningham and Donatas Kupsas are the only Wildcats that played last season. Kupsas played in just two games before a season-ending injury. The Wildcats have just 27 percent of their scoring returning from last year's team, which is the 12th lowest percentage of returning scoring in the country.

• Weber State added nine new players to this year's team, including five Division I transfers. The 'Cats have three new seniors transfers on the team in Dontay Bassett, Isiah Brown and Cody Carlson, to join Davis and Kozak as seniors, which is the most seniors on one roster in coach Rahe's career at Weber State.

• WSU has three juniors on the roster who all joined the 'Cats as transfers this season in David Nzekwesi, Tavian Percy and Zahir Porter. There are five freshmen on the roster, including Cunningham and Kupsas. Seikou Sisoho Jawara joined the 'Cats as a Division I transfer from Loyola Marymount. Dillon Jones was the only freshman signed this season.

• Head coach Randy Rahe returns for his 15th season at Weber State. Rahe is WSU and the Big Sky's all-time leader in wins and games coached. He enters this season with  278-173 (.616) all-time record. Rahe has led Weber State to five Big Sky titles and three NCAA Tournament appearances. He has coached six Big Sky MVP's.

• Adams State is a Division II school out of Alamosa, Colorado. The Grizzlies finished 8-20 overall and were 6-16 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play. Adams State was picked 13th in the RMAC preseason poll this year. Weber State is currently the only non-conference game on the schedule this season. Russ Caton is entering his sixth season as head coach. He is a former player at Adams State and Southern Utah.

• This is the first ever meeting between the two schools. Weber State is 5-0 all-time against teams currently in the RMAC.

• All-time the Wildcats are 40-18 in season openers and are 33-4 when the opener is at home. Under coach Rahe, Weber State is 167-37 (.821) all-time in the Dee Events Center.

• All 13 of Weber State's scholarship players come from a different state or country.

• After Wednesday's game, the Wildcats will hit the road to play at Dixie State on Saturday at 2 p.m. in St. George. The Trailblazers are in their first season as a Division I program.
