'Cats fall 70-52 at Northern Colorado

GREELEY, Colo. - Northern Colorado never trailed and shot 52 percent from the field and knocked off Weber State 70-52 Saturday night at the Bank of Colorado Arena.

How it happened
The Bears jumped out to a 19-9 lead and led by as many as 17 points in the first half before holding a 36-21 lead at the break. UNC shot 60 percent from the field in the first half, compared to 30 percent for Weber State.

The second half was more of the same as Northern Colorado started the half on a 14-5 run and did not look back. The Bears led by 27 points midway through the second half.

Inside the stats
UNC had 44 points in the paint and held the Wildcats to 16 points in the paint. UNC finished the game shooting 52 percent and held the Wildcats to 40 percent shooting, including 5 of 19 from 3-point range. The Bears outrebounded Weber State 32-28.

Kham Davis led Weber State with a season-high 14 points. He was 5 of 8 from the field, including 4 of 6 from 3-point range. Jerrick Harding scored 13 points, snapping a streak of five-straight games of at least 20 points. Harding also had four assists.

With the 13 points, Harding is 24 points away from passing Jeremy Senglin and becoming Weber State's all-time leading scorer.

Cody John added 11 points with five rebounds and played all 40 minutes. Dima Zdor had eight points off the bench.

The loss snaps Weber State's two-game winning streak and drops the Wildcats to 8-14 overall and 4-7 in Big Sky play. The Wildcats return home for two games this week hosting Sacramento State Thursday and Northern Arizona on Saturday at the Dee Events Center.
