Wildcats fall in hard-fought battle against Rebels

LAS VEGAS, NV - Weber State men's tennis fought hard against a good UNLV team today, but fell 5-2 in Las Vegas, Nevada.Â
"We competed extremely well today," said head coach, Brad Ferreira. "They are a very good team and we won at 2 and 3 and had a good shot at 4. Very impressed with our performance today."Â
In doubles action, the Rebels won matches in the no. 1 and no. 2 spots against Kris van Wyk and Bo-Han Li, and Sebastian Buxman and Arthur Serafim, respectively. Brendan Barr and Cezary Walkusz competed in the no. 3 spot, but did not finish.
In singles play, the Wildcats earned points in the no. 2 and no. 3 spots. Bo-Han Li picked up the victory in the no. 2 spot when he defeated Samuelsson 6-2, 6-4. In the no. 3 spot, Sebastian Buxman defeated Sauer 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 to give the Wildcats their second point. Brendan Barr narrowly missed the win in the no. 4 spot against Ciszewski, but fell 6-4, 3-6, (8-10). The final score ended 5-2 for the Rebels.
Weber State (6-5 overall) will take on Utah State University in Logan, Utah on February 28th.
