Wildcats fall to Vikings 89-83

OGDEN - Weber State dropped a fast-paced physical game to Portland State as the Vikings beat the Wildcats 89-83 Saturday night at the Dee Events Center.Â
The loss drops Weber State to 11-17 overall and 7-9 in Big Sky play with three conference games remaining.Â
How it happened
Portland State led 46-42 at halftime and the Vikings exploded early in the second half. PSU scored 25 points in the first seven minutes of the second half and took a 71-56 lead with 13:12 to play.Â
The Wildcats rallied back and cut the lead to two points at 85-83 with 47 seconds to play, but the Vikings made four free throws down the stretch and stopped the Wildcats to hold on for the win.Â
Inside the stats
Weber State led the Vikings in field goal shooting at 50 percent to 44 percent and the Wildcats outrebounded Portland State 42-37. WSU was just 4 of 16 from 3-point range, compared to 9 of 16 from the Vikings. PSU also had 37 points off the bench.Â
Four Wildcats scored in double figures, led by Jerrick Harding with 20 points. Cody John added 19, while Tim Fuller had 14 and Kham Davis had 12. Dima Zdor had a career-high 18 rebounds off the bench for the Wildcats.Â
PSU had five players in double figures, led by Rashaad Goolsby with 18 points.Â

"Our team showed a lot of toughness and resilency against a really good team. It was a terrific effort and we fought back and gave ourselves an opportunity, we just came up a couple of plays short."
