Wildcats drop final home game 78-70 to Idaho State

OGDEN - Weber State dropped its final home game of the season 78-70 to Idaho State Monday night at the Dee Events Center.Â
The loss drops the Wildcats to 11-18 overall and 7-11 in Big Sky play with two games remaining.Â
How it happened
Idaho State jumped out to an 18-6 lead in the first six minutes of the game. The 'Cats cut the lead to six points with 5:23 remaining in the half but ISU responded to lead by as many as 14 points before taking a 46-37 halftime lead. Idaho State shot 60 percent from the field in the first half.Â
Weber State started the second half on a 7-0 run in the first 1:30 to cut the lead to two points. ISU led by two at 48-46, when the Bengals went on an 11-0 run to take a 13-point lead and never looked back. Weber State never got closer than eight points the rest of the way. Â
Inside the stats
Idaho State shot 50 percent from the field and outrebounded the Wildcats 33-27. ISU also had 44 points in the paint and was 15 of 17 from the free throw line. Weber State shot 43 percent from the field and was 7 of 21 from the 3-point line.Â
Cody John led the Wildcats with 23 points, to go along with six rebounds and played all 40 minutes. Jerrick Harding added 18 points with three 3-pointers. Tim Fuller had 10 points, eight rebounds and four blocked shots and Kham Davis added 10 points.Â
Senior Night
The game was the final home game for Harding, John and Brenden Morris. Morris finished the game with a dunk at the buzzer.Â
Up next
WSU will close out the regular season at Idaho on Thursday and at Eastern Washington on Saturday. The Big Sky Tournament will begin March 11 in Boise, Idaho. The Wildcats can still finish anywhere from sixth to ninth in the league standings.  Â
