Wildcats bounce back with road win at Idaho

Weber State got back on the winning track with a 72-64 win at the University of Idaho Thursday night at the Cowan Spectrum in Moscow. 

The win moves Weber State to 12-18 overall and 8-11 in Big Sky play, tied for seventh in the league standings with one game remaining. WSU can still finish seventh, eighth or ninth in the standings. 

How it happened
In this win the Wildcats jumped out to a 20-8 lead early in the first half and took a 38-29 lead at the break. Weber State shot 58 percent from the field in the first half.

Idaho started the second half on a 16-4 run to take its first lead of the game with 13:20 to play. WSU trailed 56-52 with 8:28 to play when the Wildcats went on a 13-0 run over the next five minutes to take a nine point lead and held on for the win. 

Inside the stats
Weber State shot 48 percent from the field in the game and knocked down six 3-pointers. Cody John led the Wildcats with 21 points on 9 of 18 shooting with two 3-pointers, along with six rebounds. 

Michal Kozak had a career-high 20 points with 13 points coming in the second half. Kozak was 9 of 18 from the field with two 3-pointers and grabbed nine rebounds in 38 minutes of play. 

Jerrick Harding added 16 points with three assists and three rebounds. Dima Zdor had seven points and nine rebounds. 

Trevon Allen had 32 points to lead the Vandals. 

Up next
Weber State will close out the regular season on Saturday afternoon at Eastern Washington, at 3 p.m. Mountain time. A win Saturday would clinch the number seven seed in next week's Big Sky Tournament. If the Wildcats lose Saturday, they would still finish seventh with losses by Southern Utah and Sacramento State.
